Your Energy Supplier
It is probable that your current energy supplier will offer boiler insurance or heating cover in one form or another, either directly or through a third party. However, you are under no obligation to purchase from them and are entitled to take out cover from whichever provider you choose. There are several points worth considering which may help in finding a suitable heating cover plan and provider.
- Think about what you want your heating cover to provide. Some will only cover the boiler whilst others will include the entire central heating system as well.
- If you want to switch from your current provider to one that better suits your needs, first check the terms and conditions of your existing plan. Each provider will have different policies regarding cancellations. Sometimes it may be as simple as cancelling a Direct Debit and terminating your contract.
- If you are thinking about switching provider or do not have any boiler insurance cover, take some time to research which is the best deal for you. Compare prices and what each insurance plan covers, they are all very different in their offering and there is far more to buying cover than just getting the cheapest price.
